Motel 6 Will Pay <br />$12 Million After <br />Turning Guest Lists <br />Over to ICE In the state of Washington from <br />2015 to 2017, the budget hotel <br />chain shared the information <br />of about 80,000 guests. According to WA Attorney <br />General Bob Ferguson, <br />guests with Latino sounding <br />names were targeted. WA AG Bob Ferguson, via NPR News Ferguson says the <br />actions of Motel 6 <br />"tore families apart." Many guests were either <br />detained by ICE or deported <br />after their information <br />was shared by Motel 6. More than $10 million <br />of the settlement fund <br />will be paid out to guests who <br />were affected by the practice. After settling a similar lawsuit in Arizona, <br />Motel 6 has since discontinued the practice.
