American Hiring Bounces <br />Back in March The U.S. added 196,000 jobs this past month, and the unemployment rate remained at 3.8%. The 2019 first-quarter average is <br />180,000 jobs created per month, a decrease from the 223,000 per month average of 2018. Economists have been expecting <br />a job slowdown for 2019.
