After falling off his board, this Portuguese surfer narrowly escapes being crushed by a huge wave as a jet ski comes to the rescue.<br /><br />Veteran surfer Salvador Villas Boas was riding one of the biggest waves of the day in February 2019 until a bump knocks him off into the water near some rocks in Nazaré, Portugal.<br /><br />As the second wave closes in on the stranded surfer professional jetski rescuer Ramon Laureano saves Villas Boas by dragging him out of harm's way.<br /><br />Pedro Miranda, who captured this dramatic footage, told Newsflare: “This rescue in particular was truly one of the most heroic moments I witnessed out there. With more than 20 years of big wave experience, Ramon performed one of the most difficult rescues one can attempt in Nazaré. <br /><br />"To pick up someone directly on the first peak’s impact zone between waves is something you don’t see every day here. Ramon was a real hero, no doubt!"<br /><br />Praia do Norte beach, near the fishing village of Nazaré, has become famous worldwide for huge waves.
