BBC1_Look North (East Yorkshire & Lincolnshire) 22Feb19 - Tony's flypast <br /> <br />Sheffield flypast pays tribute to US airmen killed in wartime crash <br /> <br />Mi Amigo was a B-17 Flying Fortress aircraft & was attempting a crash landing in Endcliffe Park in Sheffield in 1944 – the largest green space for miles – but diverted course for fear of harming Tony Foulds and his friends. Since 1944 Tony has quietly tended to a memorial for the US airmen. <br /> <br />The aircraft was returning from a final mission in Denmark, where the Luftwaffe left it badly damaged.
