Ever since China banned most imports of plastic wastes to the country, many Southeast Asia countries have jumped in to fill in the gap, and Malaysia was no exception.<br /><br />Greenpeace Malaysia revealed in their ‘The Recycling Myth’ report that the international waste trade system is broken, where only 9% of plastic waste has actually been recycled.<br /><br />Greenpeace Malaysia campaigner Heng Kiah Chun urged Malaysians to do their part to reduce the reliance on single-use plastic.
