As the name says the primary ingredient in this recipe are the tomatoes. This Indian dip tastes well when paired with idli or dosa. Do give it a try and share your feedback in the comments below.<br /><br />Ingredients:<br />Oil<br />Asafoetida<br />1 1/2 tsp Urad Dal<br />1 1/2 tsp Chana Dal<br />Ginger, chopped<br />Garlic, chopped<br />1 1/2 Small sized Onion, chopped<br />Salt to taste<br />4 Tomatoes, sliced<br />1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder<br />Kashmiri Red Chilli, soaked<br /><br />For Tempering:<br />Oil<br />Asafoetida<br />1 tsp Mustard seeds<br />Curry Leaves<br />Coriander leaves<br />Juice of 1/2 lime<br /><br />Method of preparation:<br />Heat oil in a vessel, add asafoetida, urad dal, chana dal, stir well until they turn brown.<br />Add ginger, garlic and mix well.<br />Add onion, salt, tomatoes, red chilli powder, kashmiri red chilli, cook it till the tomato softens.<br />Switch off the flame, let the mixture cool and then grind it into a paste.<br />Take it out on a bowl.<br />Heat oil in a vessel, add asafoetida, mustard seeds, curry leaves, coriander leaves, lime juice.<br />Our Red Tomato Chutney is ready to serve.
