NHK says Kim-Putin summit expected to be held on April 25th in Vladivostok

NHK "북러 정상회담, 25일께 블라디보스토크서 개최 전망"<br /> <br />Russia has confirmed that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet for their first summit sometime before the end of the month.<br />The exact time and place are yet to be announced, but several reports suggest... it'll be around the 25th, in Vladivostok.<br />Arirang's Lee Ji-won leading us off tonight. <br /> The North Korea-Russia summit will be held around April 25th.<br />That's according to NHK, citing an unnamed senior official at the Kremlin.<br />The Japanese broadcaster added that the leaders will meet at an international conference center in Vladivostok.<br />This follows the Kremlin's confirmation on Thursday,... where it said that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will be visiting Russia later this month at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin. <br />However, there were no further details,.. including dates or the venue. <br />NHK's report goes in line with what other Japanese media have reported.<br />According to Japan's Kyodo News,... citing unidentified sources,... the North Korean leader plans to make a three-day visit to Russia beginning next Wednesday,... which would be the 24th.<br />The report said that Kim will hold his summit with Putin on Russky Island,.. an island close to Vladivostok,... to which Kim is expected to travel by train. <br />Russian media have also reported the far east Russian city would be the likely venue... citing some restrictions being imposed at facilities in the city. <br />Such speculation also comes as Putin is set to fly to Beijing for a forum on China's "One Belt One Road" initiative on April 26th and 27th.<br />Lee Ji-won, Arirang News. <br />
