Death Toll From <br />Terror Attacks in <br />Sri Lanka Rises to 290 The six nearly-simultaneous blasts <br />rocked three churches and three luxury <br />hotels in and just outside of the Sri Lankan capital. Two more explosions <br />followed nearly two hours later. According to police, <br />24 suspects have been arrested <br />in connection with the explosions. Of the 290 dead, <br />11 were foreigners, including <br />at least two U.S. citizens. <br />The blasts injured 500 people. U.S. Secretary of <br />State Mike Pompeo <br />condemned the terror attacks. Mike Pompeo, Sec. of State, via Fox News President Trump and <br />former President Obama <br />both tweeted after the attacks. Authorities are blaming a local jihadist group, <br />National Thowheed Jamath, but they have <br />not claimed responsibility.
