FBI Arrests Leader of <br />Armed Militia 'Detaining' <br />Migrants at Southern Border Larry Mitchell Hopkins, 69, is the leader of the United Constitutional Patriots, UCP. He was arrested by the FBI <br />on Saturday in Sunland Park, NM, <br />on charges of being a felon in <br />possession of firearms and ammunition. His arrest followed a Facebook <br />live video in which members of <br />UCP appeared to be holding <br />migrants against their will. The group claims its objective <br />is to "uphold the Constitution <br />of the United States." UCP regularly patrols the <br />U.S., Mexico border to protect <br />citizens "against all enemies <br />both foreign and domestic.” Armed with rifles and <br />dressed in camouflage, the group has helped U.S. Border <br />officials detain more than 5,000 <br />migrants in recent months. U.S. CBP statement, 'The Washington Post' Hopkins has been quoted as saying <br />that America was "built on three <br />things: God, guns and guts."
