A powerful magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck central Philippines, some 60 kilometers of Manila,... on Monday afternoon. <br />The Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reports the quake happened at 5:11PM, local time.<br />Reports vary but between 6 to 8 people have been killed and around 20 were wounded.<br />There are fears the death toll could rise as there are fears dozens could be trapped in the rubble of a collapsed commercial building in the province of Pampanga.<br />Rescuers are using heavy duty equipment and search dogs to try to reach people trapped in the building.<br />The international airport at Clark was closed following the quake and scores of flights were canceled after major damage was reported there. <br />
