Survey Says Gen Z Is Looking to Buy Homes Instead of Renting The report from Bank of America says a majority of Generation Z adults are
currently saving money to make it happen. Within the next half decade,
59% say they would like to be homeowners. This means they would achieve the milestone before hitting the age of 30. The survey adds that young adults say they'd rather use
their money for a home than extravagant things, like a fancy wedding
or an exotic vacation. To save money,
Gen Zers would
also go to a cheaper school. Moving back in with their parents to save up is another option
they'd take. In terms of why they would purchase a home, a common reason in the survey
was the purpose of starting a family. Bank of America, via
USA Today
