Gerakan wanted to field former Sabah deputy chief minister Raymond Tan for the upcoming Sandakan by-election in the state.<br /><br />However, Tan resigned from the party two days ago.<br /><br />Due to this, Gerakan president Dominic Lau said the former BN party would not contest the seat due to lack of suitable candidates.
