First Malaria Vaccine
Rolls out in Malawi Malaria is responsible for 435,000 global deaths each year. Over 250,000 of the victims
are children. Early vaccine trials began
in 2009. Malawi aims to be the first African country to immunize 120,000 children aged two and below. Kenya and Ghana will also introduce the vaccine within the next
two weeks. The three countries were picked because they've taken steps to combat malaria but still have high numbers
of cases. Dr David Schellenberg, via BBC
