The South Korean government will spend around 160 million U.S. dollars to deal with the aftermath of last month's forest fires in Gangwon-do Province.<br /> The decision was reached on Wednesday during a meeting between the ruling Democratic Party, government officials and the presidential office.<br />Most of the funds will be used for temporary housing,... as well as agricultural machinery.<br />Some will also be used for forest restoration and to beef up manpower and fire-fighting equipment.<br /> The three sides also noted the need for the National Assembly to quickly pass the government's extra budget bill, which includes another 80 million dollars for fire restoration efforts.<br />Some 40 million dollars from private donations will also be distributed to the victims. <br />
