Seven protesters, members of the organization called "Sunrise New York" were arrested after blocking the entrance to 780 3rd Avenue yesterday (April 30).<br /><br />The building houses the federal offices of Senator Chuck Schumer in Manhattan.<br /><br />The protesters were rallying to demand that Senator Schumer support the Green New Deal to fight climate change. <br /><br />Other congressmen from New York including Senate Judiciary Committee Chairperson Jerry Nadler already have voiced support for this legislation.
