This is the remarkable moment on Friday when market workers in the Guatemalan capital appeared to suddenly break into song, stunning local shoppers with an incredible operatic performance. <br /><br />The video shows a man, who appears to be working behind a stall selling water, begin to belt out the opening bars of "Libiamo ne' lieti calici" from Verdi's La Traviata. <br /><br />Then another man, who appears to be one of the market cleaners, joins in as he sweeps the floor. <br /><br />Finally, a woman dressed as a market seller adds her own wonderful soprano voice to the impressive performance.<br /><br />When the trio finishes their rousing rendition, the stunned market-goers break into spontaneous applause. <br /><br />Of course, the three singers were in fact not market workers but professional opera singers who were taking part in a project organised by Guatemalan authorities to promote culture and art.
