HIGHLANDS RANCH, COLORADO — Two male students opened fire at a science and technology school in suburban Denver last Tuesday, Reuters reports.<br /><br />Two individuals, one adult, and an underage student, entered a STEM School in Highlands Ranch, Denver armed with at least one handgun and attacked their classmates last Tuesday afternoon.<br /><br />According to authorities, the two individuals opened fire at two different locations in the school before 2 p.m.<br /><br />During a press briefing, Douglas County Sheriff, Tony Spurlock, stated that authorities arrived at the school within two minutes of the first report and struggled with the suspects before apprehending them.<br /><br />According to authorities, the shooting left one 18-year-old student dead and 7 others injured. The youngest victim was15 years old.<br /><br />The Highlands Ranch incident occurred not far from Columbine Highschool and just weeks after the 20th anniversary of the deadly high school shooting.
