US College Students Are <br />Shifting Towards Business and <br />Health Degrees According to figures, the most popular <br /> bachelor's degree in 2016-17 was business. During those years, nearly 20% of graduates <br />completed studies in that field. The figures come from the National Center for <br />Education Statistics. Numbers go on to show that during <br />this time period, education majors <br />have shrunk significantly. In the 1970s, it was the the most popular U.S. college major at 21%. In 2016, it was only 4.4%. Majoring in social sciences and history has also dropped from 18.5% to 8.1%. Besides business, taking up studies in health professions has also become <br />very popular for students.
