Russian power workers help build pylons at over 10,000-foot altitude

A powerline builder in south-west Russia filmed his team's efforts in erecting a number of pylons above the snowline in the Caucasus mountains, over 3000m (10,000 feet) above sea level. <br /><br />Video, filmed in March, shows how workers and supplies must be brought weekly by helicopter to the remote mountain area, as well as how snowy weather conditions caused difficult delays. <br /><br />The filmer commented of the issues: "The hardest thing at high altitude is lack of oxygen."
