President Moon Jae-in, speaking to his Cabinet on Tuesday in a bid to renew his flagship peace and reform drive,... ordered them to speed up the process of boosting the South Korean economy. <br />He said the administration's efforts to reform the economic sector should be translated into achievements,... and he called on his ministers to accelerate the realization of those outcomes.<br />Carrying out such administrative affairs,... the president again called for bipartisan support from the National Assembly.<br />"More than anything, the passage of the government-led supplementary budget bill is an urgent matter. An extra budget is necessary to cope with natural disasters and fine dust issues, as well as driving up consumption. This is a budget that will directly improve the livelihoods of the people."<br />The president again called for a meeting with the leaders of the five rival political parties.<br />He hopes to reach a compromise over contentious issues like the provision of food aid to North Korea and domestic economy-related agendas. <br />He said they can discuss the most pressing issues,... as long as the main opposition Liberty Korea Party agrees,... sending a direct message to the only political party that has strongly opposed such a meeting. <br />
