Jeff Bezos Unveils New<br />‘Blue Moon’ Lunar Lander In a press event in Washington DC on May 9,<br />Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos laid out the future<br />plans of his space company, Blue Origins. He detailed his long-term vision of having<br />communities on the moon, in order to support<br />the expansion and preservation of human life. Jeff Bezos,<br />via statement Bezos then went on to reveal the company's<br />latest project, a four-legged lander designed<br />to carry humans and cargo to the moon. ‘Blue Moon’ reportedly weighs 33,000<br />pounds, and is capable of transporting<br />more than 14,000 pounds in flight. In addition, the lander will also be able<br />to deploy moon-orbiting satellites while<br />descending to the moon’s surface. Bezos did not reveal specific launch dates for<br />‘Blue Moon,’ but said its rocket motor would<br />be tested for the first time this coming summer.
