South Korean actor Song Kang-ho will be awarded at the 2019 Locarno International Film Festival in August, becoming the first Asian to receive the Excellence Award.<br />The award is for Song's latest role in South Korean director Bong Joon-ho's film "Parasite", which was also selected for the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.<br />The Locarno Film Festival on Thursday said Song Kang-ho's (quote) "artistic birth can be traced back to the late 1990s"... citing a number of his films ranging from The Day a Pig Fell Into the Well in 1996 to his previous movie The Drug King.<br />The Locarno International Film Festival is held every August in the town of Locarno in Switzerland. <br />
