Former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon -- who heads the new presidential committee on climate and air quality -- called for parliamentary support to deal with fine-dust pollution.<br />Meeting with Hwang Gyo-ahn,... the chair of the main opposition Liberty Korea Party,... on Friday,... Ban said the fine-dust issue should not be politicized and that parties should work together to solve the problem.<br />Ban said his plan was to first devise short-term measures this year -- after gathering opinions from both experts and the public. <br />Hwang called for more active cooperation with China, which has been pointed to as a key contributor.<br />Ban also sat down for talks with National Assembly Speaker Moon Hee-sang,... where he called for parliamentary support,... whether it be through legislation or budget allocations.<br />He met with the leadership of the ruling and minor opposition parties earlier this month. <br />
