The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced on Friday in a news release... that the State Department has approved the possible sale... of a 314 million US dollar weapons package to South Korea.<br />The agency said on its website that a notification has been sent to Congress... for the potential sale of SM-2 Block-3B missiles to Korea. <br />The agency added that the proposed sale will allow Washington... to meet the legitimate security and defense needs of one of its closest allies.<br />According to the news release,... Seoul had requested to buy 94 of these missiles... and asked for technical assistance, as well as logistical support. <br />
