The incredible "blue tears" phenomenon turned the ocean waters a luminescent blue at Pingtan Beach in southern China.<br /><br />The spectacular video, filmed in Fuzhou City in Fujian Province on May 13, shows the waters lighting up when splashed by tourists walking and playing in the sea.<br /><br />According to reports, the "blue tears" phenomenon was caused by a type of algae, known as noctiluca scintillans.
