Cities and towns across the U.S. are holding parades, ceremonies, and events for Memorial Day to honor those who died serving the country.<br />The holiday is observed annually on the last Monday of May and it was recognized as a national holiday by an act of Congress in 1971.<br />U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted out solemn remembrances of the sacrifices of U.S. troops in honor of Memorial Day from Japan. <br />
