Acting U.S. Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan said he has full confidence in the ability to negotiate the final, full and verifiable denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. <br />But, he added... North Korea remains an "extraordinary threat"... that requires continued vigilance.<br />Shanahan,... who is in Singapore for the Shangri-La Dialogue... said Saturday... that he viewed North Korea's recent missile tests... as a violation of UN Security Council resolutions.<br />Shanahan added he's ready even if diplomacy fails... saying the U.S. has the "appropriate readiness" in cooperation with South Korea and Japan. <br />
