On the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue meeting in Singapore,... the defense chiefs of South Korea and Japan... met for the first time in eight months on Saturday.<br />Seoul's defense ministry said the two sides agreed to hold working-level talks... to address the issue concerning Tokyo's allegations... that a South Korean warship had locked its radar onto a Japanese maritime patrol aircraft in late 2018.<br />The Seoul government has strongly denied these accusations.<br />Defense Minister Jeong Kyeong-doo stressed the need to abide by international laws,... including the 2014 Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea.<br />"Rather than focus on which side is to blame, we've agreed to closely cooperate to prevent the recurrence of such an incident." <br />They also exchanged views on strengthening security in Northeast Asia,... emphasizing the two countries' cooperation on achieving the denuclearization of the peninsula.<br />The defense ministers of South Korea, the U.S. and Japan are also holding trilateral talks on Sunday. <br />
