Trump's Mexico Tariffs Could<br />Raise Prices at Chipotle The U.S. president has threatened a 5% tariff <br />on Mexico imports unless the country <br />helps with the immigration crisis. Come October this year, the tariffs <br />could be at 25%. This would hurt Chipotle, who <br />uses many items from Mexico. Chipotle CFO Jack Hartung says that <br />company costs would jump as much <br />as $15 million in 2019. Hartung does add that the chain can pass <br />this hurdle by raising prices on food items. Hartung goes on to say that <br />Chipotle could start buying <br />processed items like avocados. But in turn, he admits the quality of the food <br />would take a downturn.
