The number of foreigners enrolled in Korea's state health insurance program has reached nearly one million.<br />According to data by the National Health Insurance Service, more than 971-thousand foreigners, …including South Korean nationals living abroad, were subscribed to the program as of the end of December last year.<br />The figure makes up one-point-nine percent of total subscribers, …and is a 67-point-one percent rise from 2012.<br />The number of foreigners staying in Korea to study or work in 2018 rose by eight-point-six percent from the previous year.<br />Starting in July, the government requires all foreigners staying in Korea for six months or longer to sign up for the health insurance program.<br />
