Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has expressed optimism that Mexico and the U.S. can reach an agreement before Washington imposes a five percent tariff on Mexican goods beginning next Monday.<br />Local media explained the president reiterated that he does not want confrontation with the U.S.<br />Such a remark comes ahead of talks between the two countries on tariffs and immigration scheduled to take place in Washington on Wednesday.<br />As part of its measures to tackle illegal immigration into the U.S.,... the Trump administration said all Mexican goods will be subject to a five percent punitive tariff,... which will be gradually increased to 25 percent.<br />
