韓日 국장급 협의 韓 "한국 수산물 차별 안돼"<br /><br />Seoul's Director-General for Asian and Pacific Affairs Kim Jung-han met with his Japanese counterpart for the first time on Wednesday.<br />The meeting held in Tokyo was a regular one, through which the two sides sought to continue communication amid frosty ties. The bureau was newly organized at Seoul's foreign ministry last month.<br />According to the ministry of foreign affairs, Kim told Kenji Kanasugi how Japan's announcement in late May to tighten checks on South Korean fishery products.... should not be a retaliation against Seoul's ban on fishery products from regions around Japan's Fukushima.<br />The two also discussed South Korea's Supreme Court's order for Japanese firms to compensate South Koreans forced into hard labor before and during World War Two.<br />Reportedly, Kanasugi again asked Seoul to take the matter to an arbitration by a third nation.<br />South Korea is yet to respond. <br />
