Chris Sale Throws Another Immaculate Inning Nine pitches. Nine strikes. <br />Three outs. The feat occurred during the eighth inning of <br />Boston's 8-0 win over the Kansas City Royals. Sale became the only active pitcher to record <br />two immaculate innings in the same season. The Red Sox ace also accomplished the feat <br />against the Baltimore Orioles on May 8. Max Scherzer is the only other active pitcher <br />to throw more than one immaculate inning <br />in his career. Sale pitched a complete game, three-hit shutout <br />on Wednesday night, recording 12 total strikeouts <br />in the victory.
