Amazon Releases New<br />Alexa Device for Kids On June 12, Amazon unveiled a new Amazon Echo<br />Dot that features a child-friendly version of Alexa. The kid version of Alexa will use more<br />simplified language, as well as offering<br />answers to typical questions kids may ask. The Echo Dot Kids Edition will be available on May 9,<br />and contain the same hardware as the regular Dot,<br />with the addition of a durable bumper case. The speaker will cost $80 and include a<br />free one-year subscription to Amazon’s<br />FreeTime Unlimited service. FreeTime was created in 2017 and offers parents<br />daily activity alerts on their children as well as the<br />ability to set-up parental blocks on certain things. The unlimited version of FreeTime will offer a<br />library of kid-friendly games, songs and audio books. Privacy wise, the Echo Dot Kids Edition<br />will not share personally identifiable data<br />or voice records to third- party developers
