Ford Issues Recall for
1.3 Million SUVs and Pickups Over 1.2 million Ford Explorers from model
years 2011 through 2017 are being recalled
due to issues with their suspension systems. The SUVs are reportedly experiencing a
fractured toe link on the rear suspension. This defect has the ability to inhibit steering
and increase the risk of an accident. There have not yet been any reported
injuries related to the faulty toe link. 123,000 Ford F-150 pickups from 2013 have
also been recalled due to an issue with their
six-speed automatic transmissions. The vehicles have the possibility of experiencing
an unintentional downshift into first gear. Ford plans to spend $180 million in repairs on
all recalled cars, at no cost to the car’s owner.
