Hundreds of American retailers and manufacturers are urging President Trump to resolve the trade dispute with China, saying tariffs on Chinese goods will hurt the U.S. economy and consumers.<br />More than six-hundred companies and trade groups, including Walmart, Costco and Target, wrote to the White House on Thursday urging Trump to remove the levies on Beijing.<br />The companies say "the additional tariffs will have a significant, negative, and long-term impact on American businesses, farmers, families, and the U.S. economy".<br />Last month, the Trump Administration increased tariffs to 25 percent from 10 percent on two-hundred billion U.S. dollars worth of Chinese imports and has threatened to impose new tariffs on an additional 300 billion dollars of Chinese goods.<br />The U.S. Trade Representative will hold public hearings on the proposed tariffs from Monday.<br />
