During an intense baseball game in Japan, there will always be a number of young women in the terraces, hurrying up and down the stairs, carrying 17kg kegs of beer on their backs for thirsty sports fans. These women are called “uriko” and have been a well-loved part of Japanese sporting culture for decades.
