The nomination of Yoon Seok-yeol as South Korea's new prosecutor-general has been endorsed by Cabinet this morning.<br />Yoon was named by President Moon Jae-in on Monday to replace Moon Moo-il who retires next month.<br />The nomination was passed during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon,... as required by the Constitution.<br />After it receives the president's approval,... the nomination will be sent to the National Assembly.<br />Yoon will have to go undergo a parliamentary hearing,... but the president can appoint him even without the assembly's approval.<br />The hearing has to be complete within 20 days after the request is sent.<br />However, lawmakers can use an additional ten days if they require more time.<br />
