Amazon to Provide Customers
With Delivery Driver Information In an effort to “improve customer and
driver experiences,” Amazon will start
sharing delivery details with customers. The service will provide customers with
the first name and photograph of their delivery
driver, similar to Uber and Lyft's program. The information will only be available once the driver
is within 10 stops of the customer’s delivery address. This change will also only currently impact
Amazon Flex drivers, who work as independent
contractors making deliveries for Amazon. They recently received a message from Amazon saying
the inclusion of identifying information “helps customers
prepare for [their] arrival to ensure a successful delivery.” The program may also expand to other drivers in the
future, such as Amazon’s Delivery Service Partners.
