작년 난민신청 1.6만명 '역대 최다'… 하루 64명꼴<br /><br />South Korea's justice ministry says a record 16-thousand people filed for refugee status last year - a whopping 63 percent on-year jump.<br />Kazakhstani people made up the largest number of applicants, followed by Russians and Malaysians.<br />But, only 658 applicants were granted either refugee status or permission to stay in the country on humanitarian grounds.<br />The number of asylum seekers has been increasing since 2013 following a new refugee law. <br />
