Nipsey Hussle Honored<br />Posthumously at 2019 BET Awards The late rapper received the<br />2019 Humanitarian Award at<br />the BET Awards on June 23. Hussle’s friend, famed rapper T.I.,<br />announced the award, calling Hussle<br />“legendary” and a “revolutionary.” T.I., via ‘Complex’ Hussle was well-known for his work within<br />low-income communities in California. He co-founded “Too Big To Fail” in<br />2018, which is an organization that<br />creates STEM centers for local youth, as well as consistently advocated<br />for low-income housing to be built<br />in the Hyde Park neighborhood. T.I., via ‘Complex’ Hussle’s mother, Angelique Smith,<br />and his long-time partner, Lauren London,<br />accepted the award on his behalf.
