WFP "올해 대북 식량지원에 2천만달러 더 필요"<br /><br />The World Food Programme says an additional 20 million U.S. dollars are needed until November this year to maintain its current food support to North Korea.<br />In a report released Monday,... the WFP said it currently secured just under 30 million dollars worth of funding until May,... just over half the total requirement for this year. <br />It includes... not only the cost of food,... but also shipping and other expenditures. <br />The report added that the organization helped 611-thousand North Koreans last month, providing 16-hundred metric tons of fortified food,... and about a thousand metric tons of maize. <br />However, the aid group said heavy sanctions had unintended consequences of delaying transportation,... among other side effects.<br />The WFP had announced that over 10 million people in the North,... or about 40 percent of the population... are suffering from food shortages. <br />
