Dozens of school children wade across a swollen river after heavy rain in in Isabela Province, Philippines, on June 2. <br /><br />Torrential downpours hit the town of Aurora causing youngsters to trudge through the river with water up to their knees after the monsoon season storm. Normally the children go through a shallow part of the stream where they could walk without getting wet. <br /><br />Local teacher Rheinne Kurstein is appealing for her government to build a bridge. <br /><br />''This is what we have to endure just to get to school. I hope somebody will help us. It's not safe for the children,'' says Kurstein.
