San Francisco has become the first U.S. city to ban sales of electronic cigarettes, after its board of supervisors voted unanimously in favor of a ban on Tuesday.<br />The ordinance prohibits sales of any e-cigarette that hasn't received FDA approval from manufacturing and distributing such products on city property.<br />Currently no e-cigarettes have FDA approval.<br />The ban is aimed at reducing underage use of vapor products as according to federal data, the use of e-cigarettes among teenagers surged 78 percent in 2018.<br />E-cigarette companies claim the ban will drive former smokers back to regular cigarettes.<br />
