The Customs Department seized more than 5,000 smuggled terrapins at klia2 last week.<br /><br />Central Zone Customs assistant director-general Datuk Zulkurnain Mohamed Yusuf told the media on Wednesday that two Indian nationals were caught travelling with 5,255 red-eared sliders, a semi-aquatic species of turtle, in baskets within their luggage.<br /><br />In an unrelated case, the department also arrested two drug smugglers who attempted to bring in their illicit goods via hidden compartments in their luggage.
