Jay-Z Reportedly <br />Lends Basquiat Work <br />for 'Police Brutality' Exhibit On Friday, the <br />Guggenheim opened its show, <br />"Basquiat's 'Defacement': The Untold Story." Basquiat's painting, <br />"Defacement," is <br />about graffiti artist <br />Michael Stewart, <br />who was beaten to <br />death by police in <br />1983 after being <br />arrested for tagging. The exhibit has "approximately 20 paintings <br />and works on paper created in the years <br />surrounding Stewart's death." The Guggenheim, via statement Though reps for the museum <br />won't say who had loaned them <br />a particular piece for the exhibit, Page Six has learned that <br />Jay-Z supplied the 1982 piece <br />of art, "CPRKR," for the show. "CPRKR" was made <br />as a tribute to jazz <br />musician Charlie Parker.
