교추협, 정부 대북 쌀 5만톤 지원안 의결<br /><br />The South Korean government's plan to give 50-thousand tons of rice as food assistance to North Korea has been approved by a South Korea's committee promoting inter-Korean exchanges.<br />The committee is comprised of government and civilian panels.<br />50-thousand tons of rice will be delivered to the North via the World Food Programme to support over 2 million people across North Korea.<br />The government will be spending 23-point-6 million U.S. dollars to get the rice and 12 million dollars to help the WFP deliver and distribute it.<br />The unificaion ministry says the WFP will be strengthening the monitoring process to ensure that the food aid is distributed transparently. <br />
