Thousands of tourists and locals gathered up a mountain in northern Spain on Saturday to take part in the annual ‘Wine Battle’ or "La Batalla del Vino."<br /><br />The fight has been held annually for more than 300 years to celebrate St Peter's Day in Haro, Spain. <br /><br />The festival in the Rioja region, which begins with a mass on a mountaintop, quickly descends into a wine-soaked battle where revellers use water pistols, buckets and back-mounted crop sprayers during the vino-soaked free-for-all.
