Police in Hong Kong have clashed with protesters marking the anniversary of the city’s handover from the UK to Chinese rule.<br /><br />Thousands of protesters gathered at the Legislative Council of Hong Kong since early morning. Close to a dozen of the protesters tried to break into the government building. <br /><br /> <br /><br />They pushed a cart loaded with cardboard through the shattered door of the legislative building, and tried to tear down the glass panel with metal poles.<br /><br />Clashes also happened in other places, two rounds of pepper spray were unleashed to push the crowds back. 13 police officers were sent to hospital after the clashes.
