Melissa McCarthy May Play Ursula in ‘Little Mermaid' <br />Live-Action Remake Life's full of tough choices, and it appears <br />Megan McCarthy is close to a major decision. McCarthy is in discussions to play the villain in <br />Disney's live-action version of 'The Little Mermaid,' according to 'Variety.' Rob Marshall, from 'Mary Poppins Returns,' will direct the film. Marshall, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Marc Platt <br />and John DeLuca are producing the movie. The film will include original songs from the 1989<br />animated classic along with some new music. Alan Menken will return alongside Miranda <br />to write the music for the remake. Menken wrote the original music, including <br />the Oscar-winning “Under the Sea,” <br />“Part of Your World” and “Kiss the Girl.” Disney's latest live-action remake of 'Aladdin' <br />has grossed $820 million worldwide. The live-action adaptation of 'The Lion King' <br />hits theaters on July 19.
